ADHD Assessments for Adults
If you’ve been wondering whether ADHD might be behind some of your challenges, an assessment can help bring clarity. My assessment process is designed with adults in mind who are exploring a diagnosis later in life. I take a culturally aware and trauma-informed approach, recognizing that ADHD often presents differently in women and in marginalized communities.
In a thorough evaluation process, we’ll explore your history, current struggles, and how ADHD may be impacting different areas of your life. Together, we’ll work toward understanding your unique experience and, if appropriate, develop a plan to help you manage it moving forward.
Understanding the Basics
How It Works
The ADHD diagnostic assessment is a comprehensive process designed to provide clarity about if and how ADHD may be impacting your daily life. Over the course of 3-4 sessions, we’ll take a deep dive into your history, current challenges, and symptoms to gain a clear understanding of your experiences with attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning.
Here’s what the process looks like:
Comprehensive Assessment: A thorough evaluation which will include two 50-minute clinical interviews, standardized measures, and evidence-based psychological tests tailored to ADHD diagnosis. This will also include collateral phone calls with parents/caregivers to better assess symptom history.
In-Depth History & Symptom Review: Exploration of developmental, academic, and work history to understand symptoms over time and in various settings.
Personalized Feedback Session: A dedicated session to review findings, discuss diagnostic impressions, and answer any questions.
Comprehensive Written Report: A full report summarizing the assessment results, diagnosis, and recommendations, which can be shared with healthcare providers or schools if needed.

Understand Your Payment Options
An assessment costs $1300 and can be split into two payments. You may be eligible for reimbursement (30-70%) depending on your insurance plan. The reimbursement rate may vary based on your specific insurance plan. Please check with your provider for exact details. To check with your insurance provider, consider asking these specific questions:
“Do you cover ADHD diagnostic evaluations conducted by a licensed psychologist?”
“What percentage of the cost will be reimbursed for an out-of-network provider?”
“Is there a deductible I need to meet before I receive reimbursement for psychological assessments?”
“Are there any forms or documentation I need to submit to get reimbursed for an ADHD assessment?”
“Are there any limitations or conditions for covering psychological evaluations?”
