Therapy to help you heal, grow, and create lasting change—in yourself and your relationships.
I believe in creating a space where you feel seen and supported, but I also believe that change happens when you embody what you’ve learned — that means practicing through action. Together, we’ll dig into what’s really going on and get clear about the changes you want to make. My goal isn’t for you to stay in therapy forever, but to help you build the skills and clarity needed to navigate life on your own terms. This work is collaborative, and I’ll guide you to create solutions that help you feel stronger, more resilient, and in control of your life.
Therapy for Individuals
There are moments in life when you feel stuck, uncertain, or simply want to understand yourself better. Maybe you're facing challenges at work, feeling disconnected in your relationships, or wondering why, despite all your achievements, something still feels off. Individual therapy offers a dedicated space where you can explore these feelings and find clarity, not just to solve problems, but to grow, heal, and move forward with more confidence.
In our work together, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of your emotions, behaviors, and the patterns that shape your life. We’ll explore ways to help you make more intentional choices, feel more at ease, and reconnect with what truly matters to you.

My practice is built on a foundation of social justice and liberation, centering the experiences of marginalized groups. I work to provide therapy that acknowledges the real-world challenges of racism, patriarchy, and oppression, helping you heal and grow in a way that feels authentic to your life.
-
Your unique background and experiences are central to the work we do together. As a bilingual Latina psychologist, I offer therapy that honors your cultural identity, ensuring that your story is seen, heard, and respected. For Spanish-speaking clients, I offer services in Spanish to make this process even more accessible.
-
Your past relationships and experiences have shaped who you are today, and understanding these patterns is key to personal growth. My approach draws on psychodynamic and relational therapy to help you make sense of these connections and create healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
-
Together, we’ll dig deep, but we’ll also focus on practical, actionable steps that you can apply in the day-to-day. I’m here to help you make meaningful changes, not just reflect on the past.
Therapy for Couples
Relationships aren’t always easy, and even the seemingly strongest partnerships can face challenges. You might find yourselves stuck in the same arguments, feeling disconnected, or struggling to communicate effectively. Couples therapy offers a space where you and your partner can work through these issues together, understand each other on a deeper level, and create a relationship that feels more secure, supportive, and fulfilling.
In couples therapy, we focus on breaking unhealthy patterns, fostering better communication, and building stronger emotional connections. Whether you’re navigating a rough patch or simply looking to strengthen your bond, this process can help you both grow and transform your relationship.
-
I use Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), a leading approach that helps couples understand the emotional dynamics that fuel their conflicts. Together, we’ll explore how your interactions create distress and work to create a more secure bond between you.
-
In therapy, I guide couples toward building more secure emotional connections, not just with each other, but also within themselves. This process leads to a stronger sense of safety and trust in your relationship.
-
Many conflicts arise from unspoken emotional needs and reactive behaviors. My goal is to help you both understand and break the cycles that keep you stuck, creating room for healthier communication and connection.
-
Couples therapy isn’t just about talking through problems—it’s about learning new ways of relating to each other. Together, we’ll work on building practical strategies that help you handle conflict better, communicate more openly, and reconnect emotionally.
How It Works
Free 15-Minute Consultation
Before we begin, I offer a free 15-minute consultation call to make sure we’re the right fit. This is your chance to ask any questions, get a sense of my approach, and see if my style aligns with what you're looking for.
50-Minute Intake Session
In our first full session, we’ll dive deeper into what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, any past experiences with therapy, and what you’re hoping to gain from our work together. This is also where we’ll discuss what progress looks like for you—how you’ll know when therapy is making a difference. I want this to feel like your space, so we’ll start wherever feels right for you.
Weekly Therapy Sessions
From there, we’ll meet for regular 50-minute sessions. Whether we're working through ongoing challenges or refining goals, these weekly meetings will be a time to check in, reflect, and continue building the tools you need to feel more grounded and in control.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Think of therapy as a place to press pause and recalibrate. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that hold you back, or just not quite yourself, therapy can offer clarity and direction. You might also consider it if you want to deepen your understanding of who you are, improve your relationships, or build tools to navigate life with more ease. Trust your intuition—if you’re considering it, it’s worth exploring.
-
In our sessions, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where we’ll explore your concerns together. We’ll discuss what’s been challenging for you, your goals, and ways to help you feel more empowered. Depending on your needs, sessions may involve practical strategies, exploring deeper patterns, or simply having a space to process your thoughts and emotions.
-
The length of therapy varies based on your goals and personal progress. Some people find a few months of therapy helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly check in on how you’re feeling about your progress and decide together what makes the most sense for you.

Not at all. While couples therapy can help during crises, it’s also great for strengthening relationships, improving communication, and preventing issues from escalating. Many couples use therapy to deepen their connection and understand each other better, even when things are generally going well.
-
It’s normal for one partner to feel hesitant about therapy. I recommend having an open conversation about your reasons for wanting to try it and how it could help the relationship. Sometimes, attending a few sessions together to explore concerns can make a big difference. I’m here to support both of you, even if there’s initial uncertainty.

I offer several options to help make therapy costs more manageable:
In-Network with Aetna: I am currently in-network with Aetna through Headway. Please reach out if you would like to use insurance benefits.
Out-of-Network (Superbill): If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. My fee for out of network clients is $300 per 50 min session (individual) and $350 for a 60 min couples session. Many plans reimburse between 50-70% after you meet your deductible. Check your out of network benefits using Mentaya, a HIPAA compliant software that helps save you money on therapy: mentaya.co/b/drkiaramanosalvas
Sliding Scale: Sliding-scale spots are available for those who may need reduced-rate sessions.
If you have questions about these options or need more details, please feel free to reach out or bring them up during our consultation—I’m here to help.
